Hidden (Marchwood Vampires #1)

A paranormal romance that spans the centuries from modern England to 19th century Paris and ancient Cappadocia.

Madison Greene is in foster care until one day she inherits a fortune, she inherits a house, she inherits a cellar full of danger.

Alexandre Chevalier lives in 19th century Paris. On an archaeological expedition, he discovers a lost underground city where his life changes forever.

Their lives entwine, but this is only the beginning...

Thicker Than Blood (Marchwood Vampires #2)

Aelia lives in 6th century Byzantium. She is sixteen years old and her life is about to change forever. She doesn't yet know it, but she holds the fate of thousands in her hands and her actions will echo across the centuries. Fourteen hundred years later the lives of Madison and Alexandre are once again plunged into danger. To save Madison, Alexandre is forced back to a world he thought was dead and buried. But time is running out. The chase is on... Chilling and fast-paced, Thicker Than Blood is the supernatural sequel to Hidden. It combines passion and drama with a historical twist.

It’s not a secret to my friends and family that I stalk Robert Pattinson on the Robsessed Blog. I didn’t discover Twilight until I caught one of those entertainment shows doing a behind the scenes segment with the cast to promote the film before it was released. I can remember the exact moment. My jaw dropped, and my eyes glazed over as I saw Rob (Edward) offering Bella an apple. A subsequent “oooooh” escaped my lips, and I sent my husband to Target immediately to buy me all the books. I tore through those babies in two days, and discovered Robsessed on the net. If it hadn’t been for Twilight, I might have never found my way back to the YA genre. After reading the Twilight books for the 100th time, I went looking for something in the realm of Vampire fiction to fill the void. I tried and bailed on many until I saw Robsessed advertising a giveaway for Hidden on their blog. I clicked on the Amazon link, read the blurb, and decided I didn’t want to wait to win. I wanted to read it now.

Ooops! I’m back. Sorry, I was distracted by some hot pics of Rob grocery shopping on Robsessed. Okay, back to business.

It’s been over a year since I read the first two books in the Marchwood Vampires series, but I enjoyed them so much that I still feel inspired to give them a short and sweet shout-out. These books are nothing like Twilight with the exception of the intensity and protective demeanor of our main vampire, Alex.  Madison, our female MC and Alex meet under unusual circumstances. Really cool, unusual circumstances. Hidden had me hooked from the prologue, and I devoured it with the same curiosity that led me to devour The Davinci Code when it first came out. If you are into history and archaeological intrigue, than these vampire books are for you. Shalini Boland weaves a unique and entrancing story in the first two books in this series. The past and present are vividly visited between our two main character’s, and we are submerged into a mythology about vampires that grabbed me by the throat. Madison and Alex make for likeable and intense MC’s that I am eager to read more about in the third book expected out by the end of this year. The quick rapport and attraction that develops between them was satisfying and exciting. The supporting cast each had charisma and personal caveats of their own that added to the depth of this series. In book two, Thicker Than Blood, we are introduced to new and haunting characters that add to the historical twist. Pieces of an ancient puzzle are being fit together, and the contrast of the past with the present once again proves entertaining and addicting.

The Marchwood Vampires series are the kind of books that make you want to travel to the places that the author writes about. I could feel the cracked earth and dusty landscape of Cappadocia on my skin. The misty air of London in my lungs, and the damp streets of Paris under my feet. I felt sired to these books like a human to their vampire creator. I couldn’t put them down, and my blood is calling for more. If you have ever been sucked in by a Dan Brown novel, or a NatGeo show on ancient cultures, than this series is for you. If you have not read the books, here’s your chance. Enter to win the first two books in the series below!

Ha! I didn’t read Twilight until AFTER I saw the first movie. But *sigh* it’s just been downhill from there. Vamp Academy, Vamp Diaries,, and the list goes on. I haven’t read this series though! I need to get off my alien kick for a bit! And seriously, what is up with the damn deer already?

Hahahaha! I don’t even want to know what you must have thought of my deer obsession then LOL. Yeah, I don’t know where this avatar came from or why it’s on here.

        • Dude. I thought it was your clever way of saying Pepe/Daemon’s hotness left you feeling dumb. Literally, like a deer in the headlights, lol. Obviously, I’m the dumb one here, lolz.
