Amber Scott should be enjoying life as a college freshman. She should be pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She should be working hard to make sense of her precalculus math class.

She shouldn' t be waking up her college roommate with screaming nightmares. She shouldn' t be flashing back, reliving the three weeks of hell she barely survived last year. And she definitely shouldn' t be spending time with sexy player Marcus Reid.

But engineering student Marcus is the only one keeping Amber from failing her math course, so she grudgingly lets him into her life. She never expects the king of hookups will share his painful past. Or that she' ll tell him her secrets in return, opening up and trusting him in a way she thought she' d never be able to again.

When their fragile future together is threatened by a stalker Amber thought was locked away for good, Marcus is determined to protect her. And Amber is determined to protect Marcus…even if that means pushing him away.

reviewMy thoughts…

This book was really good. It’ s the debut novel by Author Stina Lindenblatt. After reading the synopsis I decided to give it a try. It sounded interesting and I couldn’ t wait to get started.

I love the characters in this book. Both Marcus and Amber are broken. They have both been through a lot in their short years. They’ ve not only suffered abuse, but loss as well.

The Hero: Marcus comes off as sort of a player in the beginning. He uses women for sex, but at least he’ s honest about it. He makes sure they know the terms going into it. Having said that, there was just something about him that I really liked.

The Heroine: Amber is barely surviving when this books begins. She’ s not living a normal life. Because of the things that have happened to her in the past she’ s suspects everything and trusts no one. After what she’ s been through I don’ t think I can blame her. She’ s very guarded.

Together: I think these two were good for each other. Having experienced the things they’ ve experienced they sort of connected from the beginning. That and the attraction between these two is really strong.

It was really interesting to see how things played out in this story. There were a few twists and turns in it that made it more enjoyable. I kept turning page after page because I wanted to see how things would it up between Marcus & Amber. And when I reached the end I felt satisfied with how it ended.

Smexy Times: The sexual scene (1) was comparable to adult mainstream. It wasn’ t explicit in nature, but the tension between these two made it hot.

Overall: This book was really good. If you’ re a fan of new adult contemporary romance I highly suggest you give Tell Me When a try. I’ m really glad I took a chance on it.
