Robin used to be a party girl… until she got black out drunk and woke up in bed with her best friend's boyfriend. Now she's faced with being THAT girl, and couldn't be more disgusted with herself. She can't even tell her friends the reason for her sudden sobriety and she avoids everyone until she meets Phoenix—quiet, tattooed, and different in every way that's good and oh, so bad…

Phoenix is two days out of jail when he meets Robin at his cousin's house, and he knows that he has no business talking to her, but he's drawn to her quiet demeanor, sweet smile, and artistic talent. She doesn't care that he's done time, or that he only has five bucks to his name, and she supports his goal to be a tattoo artist.

But Phoenix knows Robin has a secret, and that it's a naïve dream to believe that his record won't catch up with them at some point. Though neither is prepared for the explosive result when the past collides with the present…

review

My thoughts…

Believe is book three in the True Believers series by Author Erin McCarthy. I enjoyed this one. There were a few things about it that were unrealistic to me, but for the most part I loved it.

The hero: Phoenix. The poor guy has had it rough in life. The Mann brothers are his cousins. He just got out of jail after doing a 6 months. New to this series, Phoenix, is a take no shit sort of guy. I found that I liked him.

The heroine: Robin. She has been in previous books in this series as a secondary character. I liked her character for the most part. She’ s made some mistakes. In fact she made a very bad mistake that has her changing her ways. She’ s no longer the party girl she once was. She doesn’ t wear revealing clothes anymore or makeup. She’ s just chill and trying to blend in. I liked her character. She eaten up by a lot of guilt.

Together: These two make for an odd couple. Even though the attraction is strong there was just something not quite right about these two together. The relationship between the two seemed rushed. I thought a few things that Robin did to be unrealistic to me. Overall though I think they made an okay couple.

Smexy Times: The sexual content is comparable to adult mainstream. The scenes not explicit in nature, but are well written.

Overall: I liked this one. The plot was intriguing and this book held my attention. I didn’ t find myself skimming at all. It was a very fast read for me. I think Believe is a great addition to the True Believers series.
