THIS IS A FOLLOW UP NOVELLA TO PROMISE ME THIS.

Charlie Jennings and Jhett Hudson knew that a single moment could change everything.

It took them one song to find each other, one question to give them a chance, one kiss to fall in love, and one night to almost lose it all. But they had one thing other couples lack - pure, unconditional love - and that takes more than a moment to walk away from.

Falling in love is only the beginning. Forever is what happens next.

My thoughts…

The perfect ending to a beautiful love story.

I’m so happy that I’ve was given the opportunity to read and review this novella. I’ve been patiently waiting for it to be released. I really liked Promise Me This which is book one in this series. To say I had really high hopes for this novella would be an understatement.

Initially Promise Me Forever was suppose to be a full novel, but somewhere along the lines a decision was made and it’s been turned into a novella. I wasn’t quite sure if the story would seem rushed since it would be shorter in length, but after reading it I can honestly say that the flow of the story was perfect. I think Ms Jones did a great job covering any and all loose ends where things were concerned, and I am so happy with how things turned out. Jhett and Charlie will forever be one of my favorite couples.

If you have yet to read this series I highly recommend it. It’s a sweet new adult contemporary romance that will touch your heart.

Welcome to the South - where the tea is sweet and the accents are sweeter. This Southern way of life is all Charlie has ever known. It’s not until she loses the only person who pushed her to break free of the Southern Belle mold that she starts living the life she needs and not the life her parents forced on her.

Jhett has lived on the edge for as long as he could remember - constantly teetering back and forth between being a rock star and living a normal life. His rebellious and sometimes arrogant attitude is known to get him into trouble, especially with the girls who hang on his every move.

Charlie never thought that a trip to pack up her brother’s apartment would leave her feeling even more unsettled about the grainy details of her brother’s death. Her quest for information leads her straight to his old hangout and into arms of Jhett, who suspiciously knows more about her situation than he ever should.

Only a few questions remain - Can you trust someone based on their word alone? And if you make a promise, how far will you go to keep it?

My thoughts…

Promise Me This is a sweet new adult contemporary romance. I really enjoyed this one. The characters are rich with emotions and I loved getting to know them.

I really liked Charlie. She’s a bit clumsy. In fact upon meeting Jhett she face plants. Poor girl. She’s always done as her controlling mother has wanted. She goes to a specific school and has never really “lived” life. She’s never experienced what all the world has to offer and it was good to see her spread her wings and grow into a beautiful woman who takes life by the horns and makes it her bitch. haha Sorry, but I really liked her!

Having lost her twin brother, Cameron, she arrives at his apartment in California to pack up all his belongings. I felt so bad for. Cameron was her world and it was hard to read her thoughts where he was concerned.

Enter Jhett. He’s a tattooed hottie. Not only is he a musician, he’s also a chef. *swoon* A man of many talents…I really liked him too. He made a promise to Cameron before he died that he would look out for Charlie. Although he’s never actually met her he feels like he already knows her since Cameron was his best friend and spoke of her often.

Things were a little awkward in the beginning with these two, but then things started to develop into a friendship of sorts. Then onto more. Jhett encouraged Charlie to live a little and try new things. I think these two as a couple were great together. I loved experiencing how their relationship grew.

The sexual scenes in this one are pretty much G rated. They aren’t the main focus and don’t really go into detail. I’m not sure why Promise Me This has warning rating. Sure there are a few cuss words, but things aren’t overly explicit.

Overall, I think this was a great read. I can’t really say it ends on a cliffhanger, but there is another book and after speaking with the author on Twitter she refers to the ending as a hopeful-hanger haha If you’re not following Sarah Ashley Jones on twitter you should. She’s a sweetie and I enjoy talking with her.
