Chloe hasn't had the best life. With a mother who is gone more often than not, she has had to raise herself. After graduating high school, she leaves to start a new life away at West Virginia University with her best friends Amber and Logan, determined to leave her demons in the past.

On her first day, she meets a stranger who takes her breath away at first sight. Until she met Drake, no one had ever sparked her interest. Now this tattooed and pierced bad boy is all she can think about, no matter how hard she fights it.

Falling for Drake was never part of her plans, but when it happens, things seem to do anything but fall into place.

Dealing with a tragic past, Drake has never cared about anyone else but himself and his band. But when Chloe takes the empty seat next to him in class, things start to change. Instantly drawn to her, he begins to wonder if one girl can take a cold hearted womanizer and change every part of him?

Long hidden feelings are revealed and friendships tested to the brink.

My thoughts…

Torn was an emotional roller coaster. I experienced a whirlwind of emotions while reading this one. It was a fast read for me. I finished it in less than a day. I just couldn’t seem to put it down.

I really liked Chloe. The poor girl has had a hard life. Her mother had her at a young age and was mean and cruel to her. Sometimes she would leave Chloe for weeks at a time to fend for herself.

Logan is Chloe’s best friend. I really liked him. His feelings for Chloe were totally different from her feelings for him though. He’s wanted her for a long time, but she seemed oblivious to this fact.

Drake. *swoon* He’s a bad boy rocker she meets the first day of class. He’s tatted up and pierced in all sorts of places. I really like him too. He’s definitely swoon worthy. He’s also a player and doesn’t try to hide this fact. Even though *swoon*

There’s a love triangle between these three. I’m not really sure how I felt about that. On the one hand I liked Logan and thought he was a safe bet for Chloe. But on the other hand Drake seemed to be the one that drove her wild.

There are few instances within this book that had me shaking my head. I don’t want to give too much away. Let’s just say that I can’t understand why some things happened the way they did.

1) I’m not a fan of cheating. I can’t justify it in my mind and don’t think it has a place in a romance novel.

2) I think the hero offering another woman’s clothes to the heroine to wear is all kinds of wrong. Doesn’t matter that said clothing still has “tags” on them. Just wrong. I’m not even sure what the point of that was.

Even though there were a few things I didn’t care for, I can honestly say that I really did enjoy this story and I’m looking forward to reading Twisted.

I’m not sure if the author is planning to write any more books, but I’d like to see how things end up for Logan. He sort of faded away at the end of this one.
