Life works in mysterious ways.

Four years ago I became known as the girl with cancer.

I refuse to cry.

And I refuse to give in.

A relationship with a man is the last thing I' m looking for right now, but one night with Parker changes everything. He is persistent, and he knows what he wants. Me.

He doesn' t treat me like I' m fragile.

But he doesn' t know, and I' m not ready to tell him.

What if it changes everything?

Tragedy found me when I was seventeen.

Love found me when I was twenty-one.

My name is Aundrea McCall, and this is my journey.

My thoughts…

Omigosh! I loved, loved, loved this book. It is amazing! The plot was phenomenal. The characters were rich with emotions. Once I got started I couldn’t out it down. It captivated me from the beginning and held my attention until the very end.

This book is highly emotional. I cried snotty tears several times while reading it. It just touched my heart.

Aundrea is a 21 year old woman who is battling cancer. This isn’t the first go round with the disease. She’s strong and seems to always be the one who comforts her family. Ms Maxlyn did a great job of shedding light on how cancer effects not only the person who has it, but also those around them including not only family but friends as well. I had no idea how awful the side effects from having chemo can be.

Aundrea’s love interest is Parker. Oh my… Parker. I loved him from the beginning. There was just something about him that drew me in. He was a good person and never gave up on Aundrea even though she tried to keep him at a distance. Every woman she be so lucky as to find her very own Parker.

Together these two made a great couple. I was so happy when Aundrea finally accepted her feelings for him. Their playful banter had me chuckling at times. Parker was a good natured person. He kept things light and was a big flirt.

The sexual scenes within this story are comparable to adult mainstream romance. They’re well written and enjoyable.

Overall, What’s Left of Me is one of the best debut novels I’ve ever read. I cannot wait to read upcoming titles by this author. You guys really need to read this one!
