Natalie is a wife.
Natalie is a mother.
Natalie is a cutter.

Clawing at walls built by resentment, regret, and guilt, Natalie cuts as an escape from a life she never planned.

Staying present is only possible when you let go of the past. But, what if the past won't let go?

review

My thoughts…

Hmm I’m trying to find the right words for this review. I’m going to be brutally honest here. I absolutely loathed Natalie in the beginning of this book. She was a complete bitch. She was always so negative. She acted like her kids were a burden to her. And she was very selfish. Once I got past my initial feelings for her (about 1/3 of the way in) I really enjoyed this book.

Sometimes it was a little confusing, but not too much. Also, at times things were predictable, but the overall storyline was unique and intriguing. It’s like once I got over my initial feelings about Natalie I couldn’t put this book down. I wanted to see what would happen next.

The story switches back and forth between past and present and I enjoyed reading it like this. It was like discovering new puzzle pieces and putting them together to form the overall picture.

Overall, I really liked this book and it’s characters. It deals with real life struggles and situations and I think Ms Randall did an excellent job writing it.
