Tick, tick, tock.

Time.

That' s all I have now.

A small room, a photograph, and time.

They want me to trust them and confess my sins.

They told me they wouldn't judge me—they lied.

I thought we could convince the world that this wasn't a crime.

We were wrong.

Time doesn't stand still.

The clock keeps ticking, the world is unconvinced, and now…

Now he is gone.

My thoughts…

OH!!! What an awesome book! I loved, loved, loved this one. This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I read a few reviews and heard a lot about it on twitter and decided to give it a shot. I’m so happy I did.

I’ll admit the synopsis on Goodreads is a bit vague so I really wasn’t sure what to expect, but once I started it I was drawn in and I just couldn’t put it down. I stayed up ALL night reading it. It was that good. Even now while writing this review several hours after finishing it I’m still reeling.

The storyline itself is a bit taboo. There’s been others like it I suppose, but it’s the brilliant writing that sets it apart. The whole student / teacher aspect that is forbidden makes this story not only suspenseful, but also hot as hell. I mean really hot. The sex scenes are well written and plentiful. I felt myself blush several times.

Veiled Innocence is told in dual POV. I really liked this about it. As a reader I was able to gain insight into the minds of these characters. Feel what they were feeling.

There are so many layers to this story. Once I reached the end I was in awe. I tried so hard to figure out how things were going to turn out in the end. I tried. I failed. That in itself made me love this book even more. I’m not a fan of predictability. I like it when authors keep you guessing until the very end and Ms Frank did just that.

Overall, I’m giving this story five stars. I’d give it more if I could. I highly suggest you give it a try. It really is amazing!
