reviewMy thoughts…

So this is novella two in the new Proposition series by H.M. Ward. I’m not quite sure how I feel about this series. The first novella was interesting and held my attention until the very end, but this one I found myself sort of skimming. There just didn’t seem to be much going on with the characters. There was a little bit of a suspense element added to this one towards the end that I think could be really good in upcoming novellas.

While I liked both novella one and this one I honestly don’t think I will continue to read the series. These installments only contain about 100 pages and I feel that just really isn’t enough time to build the story up. Just when things start to get really intriguing the story ends on a cliffhanger. I think I’d rather just read a full length novel than a series of novella.

Bryan Ferro's story.

My thoughts…

Omigosh! I loved this one!!! Its a great start to a new series. I’ve read the Damaged and Stripped series by Ms Ward and couldn’t wait to read this one. I signed up for an ARC not knowing anything about The Proposition other than it being Bryan’s story. It captured my attention from page one and didn’t let go. As I’m writing this I’m still reeling from it. I need Vol 2 like right now!

Bryan has been a secondary character in the other series. I don’t know a whole lot about him. His love interest, Hallie, has had a tough go of things lately. These two have a history. Not much is revealed about their history other than the fact that they had wild crazy monkey sex with each other. I’m dying to know all about their previous relationship. There are hidden secrets and I want to know what they are.

The sexual content within this one is relatively non-existent. There is a little bit, but not too much.

Overall, I loved The Proposition and I cannot wait for next book!!!

There’s no such thing as second chances, and Brooke would know. This Christmas will be spent alone and uncelebrated, same as the last. It doesn’t matter that she’s a disgruntled mall elf, standing next to a chimney-scented Santa with the most annoying co-worker ever. It doesn’t make Christmas more magical. It’s just another day to endure, and the holiday can’t pass fast enough. That is, until her old flame, Chris, spots her.

After taking a picture with Brooke in her elf costume, things take an unexpected turn. Maybe getting through the night won’t be so difficult after all.

My thoughts…

A short holiday novella I enjoyed this one for the most part. There was a bit of confusion on my part for the first half of it though. I couldn’t figure out what was going on with the characters. It just sort of seemed that there wasn’t enough backstory to justify how the main characters were acting towards each other. I kept feeling like I was missing something while reading it.

The overall plot was good and this one is a really quick read. I wish things would have been a little more clear where the characters were concerned.

The V Card. Virgin. Most of us want to punch that sucker ASAP, and hide the fact until then, but not Cassie Hale. Three years ago she frickin' covered hers in glitter and laminated the thing, proudly telling me that she's waiting for the perfect guy.

So when I see her half naked, tangled together, rolling around on the floor with another stripper, I'm kind of shocked. Okay, that's an understatement. I'm enthralled. I have to know what cracked her picture perfect world and landed her here, and I hope it's something horrible-an event that broke her the way she broke me. Because, that's who Cassie Hale is--the woman who stole my heart and crushed it in her hand.

My thoughts…

OMG Wow! Where to start… I LOVED this book! For reals. I’m a fan of H.M. Wards work and knew that I HAD to read this one. I liked Jonathan in other books and wanted to hear his story. Stripped didn’t disappoint. It held my attention from the beginning until the very end and left me hungry for more. It was a really quick read for me.

I loved Cassie! She has old fashion values and that throws Jonathan off his game. Jonathan is used to having women falling all over him. He’s the heir to his families fortune so of course any and every woman throw themselves at him. Cassie doesn’t though and he sees her as a challenge, but before he knows it, just having sex with her isn’t going to be enough for him. Cassie makes Jonathan want to be worthy of her. I really liked watching their relationship develop. All to soon things end badly and I was heartbroken. Fast forward a few years later and they meet again.

The circumstances they are faced with are very different this time around. Cassie’s not a virgin anymore. She’s also a stripper. This doesn’t compute for Jonathan. On one hand he’s still pissed at her and wants nothing to do with her, but on the other hand he needs to know why things are the way they are. When things are revealed I couldn’t help but feel a little bit heartbroken for Cassie.

Sex. The sexual content plays a small part in this one. What little bit there is is hot, but there isn’t a lot of it. There are other things going on that are the main focus of this story. Yes, I know you’re thinking “She’s a stripper so of course there is sex,” but really it’s not the main focus. That doesn’t make it any less hot though.

Sadly Stripped ends with a cliffhanger *cries* which I was aware of before starting it, but with the way things abruptly ended I just know the second book is going to be awesome as well.

There is one thing I’ve noticed after reading a few of Ms Wards books. It seems all the characters are related in some ways or another. Secondary characters have their own stories in different series and I couldn’t help but feel out of the loop about them a little. I feel that I need to read the other books now to get the whole story on the other characters and don’t miss out on anything. Having said that it’s not required that I read them all. I don’t want you think that you have to read them all to know what’s going on because that’s not the case. I just liked several of the secondary characters and want to get to know they better and read their stories.

Overall, I LOVED Stripped. I very excited about book two and can’t wait to read it!

The steamy conclusion to the New York Times bestselling and #1 Amazon bestseller New Adult novel DAMAGED by H.M. Ward.

Home isn't supposed to be dangerous, but for Sidney it is. Returning home means that she has to face her past. It's not just the man who hurt Sidney that makes it horrible, but the family that didn't believe her. They were dead to her, but now that her mom is really dying things seem different. It's a chance to set things right.

What Sidney doesn't realize is that she's dragging Peter into a collision course with his past. Peter must deal with the demons haunting him if he wants to move forward with Sidney. He's willing to give up everything for her, even wade deeper into his past life to help her move forward. But, Peter isn't sure if he can get over what happened to him in New York.

My thoughts…

Damaged 2 is the sequel to Damaged. Although I enjoyed it I don’t think it lived up to my expectations. It started out a little confusing to me, but after reading several pages things started to clear up.

As revealed in the first book both Sidney & Peter have run from the problems of their past and now it’s time for Sidney to face hers and move on with her life.

This book had me laughing several times but it was also an intense read too. I kept turning page after page because I needed to know what would happen next.

The sexual content is limited and is adult mainstream in nature. I was really hoping that when things happened between Peter & Sidney that it would more steamy, but in a way I understand why it wasn’t given Sidney’s past experience.

Overall, I’m happy with the way things turned out with Sidney & Peter. It was nice to see two people who were in fact damaged get their happily ever after.

Life sucks. And, as soon as Sidney picks up the pieces something always knocks her back onto her butt. It’s never pretty, but this time is different. This time pretty isn’t even the right word.

Peter is the personification of perfection. It’s like he fell off his angel perch in purgatory, because let’s face it–any guy that hot has got to be naughty. He was probably sent here to ruin her life.

Peter is beyond beautiful with his sexy blue eyes, dark hair, and toned body. Add in his charming wit and Peter is everything Sidney ever wanted in a man, but when things get hot and heavy Peter shows her the door. Sidney takes the walk of shame and leaves. It’s the end of the worst blind date ever. Her life couldn’t possibly reach higher levels of suckage, but it does.

The next morning everything comes crashing down. The insanely hot guy from last night, the one that saw her half naked, is teaching at the front of the class room.

My thoughts…

The first chapter of this book will leave you laughing. The way it is written was a nice surprise and cracked me up.

I loved Sidney and Peter. They both have issues from the past that they are struggling with, but they just seem to fit well together. They’ve both ran away from their problems instead of dealing with them and it ends up being a big mistake for Sidney when her past comes back to haunt her.

When her twin brother and his best friend show up 3/4’s of the way through the book things sort of took a non-realistic turn for me. I just can’t see a family member treating another family member the way Sidney was treated and especially since it was her brother.

The sexual chemistry between Sidney and Peter is off the charts. After a while though I sort of got frustrated because they never really did come together sexually.

I noticed when purchasing Damaged that it was part one in a series. I didn’t expect it to be centered around the two main characters. That isn’t a drawback and it doesn’t take away from the story at all. I’m just an impatient person and need story to be wrapped up in one book. 🙂

With that said I’m really looking forward to reading the second book in this series. I can’t wait to see how things turn out for them.
