Vince Santini considers himself the last man standing. Being the only unmarried brother is a badge of honor, until the woman had always been in his heart returns. Acting on his attraction hadn’t been an option seeing that she was his best friend’s girl, but now she is single and free for him to pursue.

Julianna Andrews is a survivor. It took her years to walk away from her abusive husband, and now all she cares about is building her business. She doesn’t have time for Vince or the temptation he represents. He is a reminder of her past. One argument leads to a heated kiss, and the passion that threatens to consume them both.

Vince knows that Jules might not be ready for happily ever after with anyone, but he is bound and determined to convince her that he can give her that—and more. This Santini is happy to be the last man standing—as long as he is HER man.

My thoughts…

Vicente. *swoon* He’s the oldest Santinis brother. The one who’s not in a relationship. The last man standing until the one and only woman he has ever loved is divorced and back in his life.

Julianna. Vicente has loved her since high school and was heartbroken when she married his best friend. She’s a little gun shy when it comes to relationships, which is understandable given what her ex-husband has put her through.

I was so happy when these two started seeing each other. I’ve liked Vicente in all the previous novellas and wanted him to get his HEA.

This is a relatively short read. I was able read it in one sitting. I think Ms Schroeder did a great job with this one. It’s a great way to end this series.

The youngest of the Santinis, Gee has always been the biggest flirt. He usually has no problem charming women. That is until he spies Kianna Jones across the room. For once in his life, he is unable to charm her into a date.

Kianna is a woman who doesn’t expect romance, especially with a sexy PJ who is five years younger than she is. But, he just won’t give up so she agrees to a date, which turns into several and eventually to the best sex of her life. Still, she isn’t ready to commit beyond their present status.

Gee isn’t happy when Kianna resists taking their relationship to the next level but he refuses to give up. If there is one thing a Santini understands is that nothing worth fighting for comes easily—and he is prepared to launch the fight of his life.

My thoughts…

By far Gianni is my favorite Santinis. This is my favorite novella of the series so far. I don’t quite know what it is about Gianni but he get’s my motor running. Maybe it’s whole younger man / older woman aspect. I’m just not sure.

I liked the fact that Gee and Kianna’s relationship was developed over a two month period via email while he was deployed. It made for the love element to be more believable.

Even though this is short novella read it was really enjoyable. Up next is Vicente’s story. Can’t wait!

Marco is the quiet one of the four brothers which works well for his career as a Navy Seal. Living in Hawaii is a dream come true, his only probably is the infatuation he has for his landlady. He’s not sure he wants to act on his attraction until his brothers push Marco’s temper with a little harmless flirting.

Alana Kailikea is a woman who understands loss. Her entire family was killed when she was only eighteen, leaving her an heiress. A bad experience with gold digger has left her wary of most men—especially gorgeous men like Marco. She never expected him to ask her out, or that it would lead to a romance that has them burning up the sheets. Still, she tells him that an affair is all she wants.

Marco doesn’t want an affair—he wants forever. He agrees to her idea of an affair determined to use every chance she gives to convince her that they were made for each other.

My thoughts…

This is novella number two in a four novella series. As with the first one I really enjoyed this one too. I liked Alana’s character from the beginning and felt bad for her because of her family issues. Marco’s a sexy SEAL and has three brothers who are all in the military. The four of them are who this series is based upon.

Even though this is a short read I thoroughly enjoyed it. The attraction Alana & Marco shared was strong upon them meeting each other and I enjoyed watching these two fall for each other.

The sexual content with this one is comparable to mainstream romance.

Up next is Gianni’s book. From what I can tell he’s quite the character and I can’t wait for him to meet the women who’s going to snatch him up.

Leo Santini is a man who always has a plan. It is the way to live a well-ordered life. He never planned on dealing with the hardheaded physical therapist who is taking care of his friend. He definitely never planned on being so totally infatuated with her.

Maryanne Johnson doesn't have time for a romance—especially with a military man. Sure, Leo is drop dead sexy, but more than one man in a uniform had hurt her before. Unfortunately, she can't seem to resist him or his kisses. It doesn't help that the man is as sweet as he is sexy. Falling for him is easy, but she does her best to keep herself from admitting it to him.

Leo knows she wants to keep things simple but when a Santini is in love nothing will stop him from achieving his goal—even the hardheaded woman he loves.

My thoughts…

The Santinis is a new 4 novella series about 4 brothers who are all in different branches of the military. Each of them are single and looking for love. Well, they might not be looking for it, but eventually it’s going to find each and every one of them.

Leonardo’s story is first. He’s an Army Medic and doesn’t take crap from anyone. When he meets Maryanne Johnson he’s finally met his match. At first he’s a little taken aback from her attitude but soon something stirs within him and the attraction is strong.

Maryanne has grown up in a military family. She’s got several brothers who are all in the military. She knows a lot about the life. She’s dated several men in the military and hasn’t always had the best of luck. She wants nothing to do with Leonardo at first. Leo’s caught off guard with his feelings and Maryanne, well, she tries hard to not develop feelings for him.

I really liked the chemistry these two shared. The sexual scenes are pretty much mainstream which is unusual for Ms. Schroeder. I’ve read several other books by her and they are all really hot, but since this is a novella I guess it’s to be expected that the sexual scenes would be toned down and shorter in length. This fact doesn’t in any way take away from the story.

Although it’s a short read I really liked this one. I’m looking forward to reading the next novella in this series. Marco’s up next. I can’t wait to get to know him.

What starts out as simple fantasy among friends, becomes an overwhelming need that none of them can deny.

Maura Dillon has always been someone who lived life on her own terms. From the time she in college she knew she had different needs than most of her friends. But she never thought she would find herself torn between two very sexy men, or that they would want to add her to their relationship.

Zeke and Rory have known each other for years. Their casual relationship has spanned a decade, but now that they are living together things are on a whole other level. Add in their mutual attraction for Maura and things are just getting out of hand.

Rory understands their desires and suggests a week in Hawaii. No rules, no limits, no regrets. But as their nights are filled with unimaginable erotic pleasure, there is someone lurking in the shadows. Someone who wants revenge, and will stop at nothing to succeed.

My thoughts…

I’ll start off by saying that I love this series and every book that’s a part of it. The characters are always rich with emotions and the sexual aspect of these stories are always smoking hot and well written.

I loved Maura, Zeke, and Rory. Maura and Zeke previously dated, but thing didn’t work out for them. Zeke couldn’t be the person Maura needed him to be.

Enter Rory. Zeke and Rory have a long history. They’ve bee lovers off and on since they were young. When Rory comes back into Zeke’s life they take up where they left off in their previous relationship. This makes Maura jealous. On the other hand, Rory, is also jealous of the relationship Maura and Zeke had.

After going to Hawaii to get away from a case they previously worked on, Zeke & Rory offer a one week fling to Maura. Hesitant at first, Maura decides she’d rather give in and agree to the fling instead of not knowing what might have been.

Right from the beginning things heat quickly. Rory is a Dom while Zeke is not. Maura likes being controlled in the bedroom while Zeke likes to watch. Maura also likes to watch Zeke & Rory.

There is a bit of a suspense element that wasn’t the main focus of the story. I thought I had it figured out, but in the end it didn’t turn out the way I thought it would. Which was a nice surprise.

Overall I really enjoyed this story and the way it ended. The only negative thing I can say about the story is that it has a few grammatical errors that a bit more editing could fix.

Is it love, or just a little harmless sex?

Harmless, Book 1

Max has always been Anna’s knight in shining armor. But Max has always seen her as a charming, and very sexy, little sister.

Until Max’s cold fiancée dumps him, Anna unloads another of her many conquests and she invites him over for margaritas and Mexican food. Too much tequila, too much flirting, and too many years of fighting the attraction—Max loses control and has mind-blowing sex with Anna on her couch. And in her shower. And in her bed.

When the sun rises the next morning, both of them must face that their night together is just the first of many. For Max, he knows he wants Anna forever, but convincing a commitment-phobe like Anna is no easy task. For Anna, she can’t believe she has finally slipped beneath Max’s steely self-control. He is every woman’s dark, wet fantasy come true. But what happens when Max pushes Anna for more than just A Little Harmless Sex?

This book was previously published, but has been rewritten, revised, and reedited—more than doubled in length from its original version.

Warning, this title contains the following, explicit sex, graphic terms for body parts, torture via silk stockings, a little spanking, and shower and office sex.

My thoughts…

Wow! I loved this book. This is the first book by author Melissa Schroeder that I have read and I will definitely be reading more of her books.

Maxwell Thurston and Anna Dewinter are best friends. When Max’s fiancée Cynthia Myers decides to call off their engagement, Anna invites Max over for margaritas and enchiladas. Anna, who has a thing for younger men, happens to break things off with her boyfriend Brad the same day. Anna feels Brad is taking their relationship a little bit more seriously than he should. She tends to break things off before things get to serious with any man she dates.

Anna has a thing for Max besides him being her best friend. She’s secretly been mooning over him since they were kids. Max thinks of Anna as a little sister but also secretly has a thing for her. The chemistry between Anna and Max sizzles from the beginning. After Anna and Max drink a little two much, they end up having sex. And not just any sex, but hot and steamy makes your toes curl sex.

The next morning is a little awkward. Anna doesn’t do commitment and Max is determined to change her mind. Throughout the story he’s constantly trying to get Anna to commit to a lasting relationship but Anna’s been hurt in the past and she tends to shy away when things get a little bit too serious.

I loved the dialogue of this story. It is well written and I found myself unable to put it down. I enjoyed getting to know Anna and Max and wanted things to work out for them in the long run. There is a little twist towards the end of the book that I loved and it helped bring everything together quite nicely.

If you love a hot and steamy romance with a traditional happy ever after then A Little Harmless Sex is for you. Be sure to check out the other books in this series. A Little Harmless Pleasure and A Little Harmless Obsession.
