Leo Santini is a man who always has a plan. It is the way to live a well-ordered life. He never planned on dealing with the hardheaded physical therapist who is taking care of his friend. He definitely never planned on being so totally infatuated with her.

Maryanne Johnson doesn't have time for a romance—especially with a military man. Sure, Leo is drop dead sexy, but more than one man in a uniform had hurt her before. Unfortunately, she can't seem to resist him or his kisses. It doesn't help that the man is as sweet as he is sexy. Falling for him is easy, but she does her best to keep herself from admitting it to him.

Leo knows she wants to keep things simple but when a Santini is in love nothing will stop him from achieving his goal—even the hardheaded woman he loves.

My thoughts…

The Santinis is a new 4 novella series about 4 brothers who are all in different branches of the military. Each of them are single and looking for love. Well, they might not be looking for it, but eventually it’s going to find each and every one of them.

Leonardo’s story is first. He’s an Army Medic and doesn’t take crap from anyone. When he meets Maryanne Johnson he’s finally met his match. At first he’s a little taken aback from her attitude but soon something stirs within him and the attraction is strong.

Maryanne has grown up in a military family. She’s got several brothers who are all in the military. She knows a lot about the life. She’s dated several men in the military and hasn’t always had the best of luck. She wants nothing to do with Leonardo at first. Leo’s caught off guard with his feelings and Maryanne, well, she tries hard to not develop feelings for him.

I really liked the chemistry these two shared. The sexual scenes are pretty much mainstream which is unusual for Ms. Schroeder. I’ve read several other books by her and they are all really hot, but since this is a novella I guess it’s to be expected that the sexual scenes would be toned down and shorter in length. This fact doesn’t in any way take away from the story.

Although it’s a short read I really liked this one. I’m looking forward to reading the next novella in this series. Marco’s up next. I can’t wait to get to know him.
