Everything in my life is perfect. I have a family. My music is now going my way. And I have Stephan. Forever. All my dreams are coming true. But the problem with perfection is that eventually everything falls apart. And my whole life is crumbling around me — piece by piece.
I am just trying to get through the next few months with my sanity intact, but that seems like an impossible feat. I' m back in LA, and this time I' m not alone. Between finding time for my new husband, my mother-in-law that hates me, and putting up with Alec and Bridgett' s bickering, I' m not sure how much more I can take… And then Mona shows up. I am in over my head.
I thought I knew the truth about everything, but I was wrong. Secrets that weren' t supposed to come out are now being discovered. Secrets about my biological father… Even Bridgett is keeping a secret… Something big. I have to know what, even if it means running away again.
I tried for normal — now I know that there is nothing normal about being a rock star.
My thoughts…
Hated is the final book in the Rock Star trilogy by Mercy Amare. I have to say that I’m a little sad that this series has come to an end. I’ve really enjoyed spending time with not only the main characters, but the secondary characters as well.
This one starts off with Stephan and Scarlett being newlyweds. I don’t know why, but I had forgotten that Stephan and Scarlett tied the knot at the end of Faded. (sorry if spoilerish) It was pretty apparent that they were going to try and keep things a secret for as long as they could, but seeing how Scarlett is a famous pop star things didn’t quite work out that way. To say that everyone is shocked would be an understatement.
There are a couple bombshells revealed in this one that I didn’t see coming. They made the story all the more enjoyable. I think Ms Amare did a great job working things out the way she did. I certainly had know idea things were going to play out the way they did involving some of the secondary characters.
Bridgett and Alec pretty much go round and round in this one. That’s pretty normal with them though. I understand the reasoning why, but I kept getting frustrated with them :/ I want them to end up together so freaking bad.
The sexual content is comparable to adult mainstream. It’s not overly explicit and is PG in nature. I think so at least.
The epilogue is a little different from a normal epilogue. Or at least it’s a little different from ones that I have read before. There are several parts to it. At first I wasn’t sure why it was written that way, but after completing the book I see now that things needed to be broken up a little bit to complete the story. 🙂
Overall, I’m really happy how things worked out for Stephan and Scarlett. Their happy ending was a sweet one.
