Acclaimed author Katie McGarry returns with the knockout new story of two high school seniors who are about to learn what winning really means.
Champion kickboxer Haley swore she'd never set foot in the ring again after one tragic night. But then the guy she can't stop thinking about accepts a mixed martial arts fight in her honor. Suddenly, Haley has to train West Young. All attitude, West is everything Haley promised herself she'd stay away from. Yet he won't last five seconds in the ring without her help.
West is keeping a big secret from Haley. About who he really is. But helping her-fighting for her-is a shot at redemption. Especially since it's his fault his family is falling apart. He can't change the past, but maybe he can change Haley's future.
Hayley and West have agreed to keep their relationship strictly in the ring. But as an unexpected bond forms between them and attraction mocks their best intentions, they'll face their darkest fears and discover love is worth fighting for.
My thoughts…
Take Me On is part of one of my favorite YA series. It’s well written and very enjoyable. I really liked West in the previous book and was happy that Take Me On was his book. I also really liked Haley too. She’s a very strong heroine and I think her and West made a great couple. I enjoyed sinking into their world.
Even though I really enjoyed this book it took me some time to get through it. It started out slow for me and I had trouble getting into it. Along with that I kept getting distracted. :/
The storyline was intriguing though and there were a few surprises along the way that kept thing interesting. Once I did reach the end I was very happy with the way things turned out.
Overall, Take Me On is a great addition to this incredible series. I can’t wait to see who’s book is next.
I’ve got this on my one day hopefully list 🙂 Love when there are some surprises here or there that catch me off guard. Glad it ended up being a good one even if a little slow on the get go 🙂
