When seventeen-year-old Sia wakes up on a park bench, she has no idea who or where she is. Yet after a week of being homeless, she' s reunited with her family. At school, she' s powerful and popular. At home, she' s wealthy beyond her dreams. But she quickly realizes her perfect life is a lie. Her family is falling apart and her friends are snobby, cruel and plastic. Worse yet, she discovers she was the cruelest one. Mortified by her past, she embarks on a journey of redemption and falls for Kyle, the “geek” she once tormented. Yet all the time she wonders if, when her memories return, she' ll become the bully she was before…and if she' ll lose Kyle.

My thoughts…

Sia. I really liked this one. It held my attention from the beginning until the end.

I think both the main and secondary characters were very interesting.

I loved Sia. (love her name) She wakes up on a park bench and has absolutely no idea who she is or how she got there. She’s forced to spend a week living homeless on the streets. She befriends a homeless woman named Carol who helps keep her safe.

As the story goes on Sia learns what type of person she’s been in the past and doesn’t want that life anymore. She discovers that she was mean to people and thought she was better than everyone. She also learns that her home life isn’t what it appears to be. I admired her. Even though she couldn’t remember who she was she tried her best to better herself and become a better person. One who treated others with respect.

I loved Kyle as well. At first he was a bit reluctant to get involved with Sia because of her past actions, but as the story progressed they sort of developed a friendship. One of his fears where when Sia regained her memory that she would revert to her old ways and go back to treating him badly.

The sexual content is non-existent in this one which is usually the norm for young adult novels. There is definitely a strong attraction between Sia and Kyle though.

Overall, I really enjoyed Sia. The plot was quite good, the characters were interesting, and the story held my attention from the beginning until the very end. I think for a debut novel Mr Grayson did a terrific job. I will defiantly be reading his future works.
