So how did I get myself into this situation, you ask? Simple: desperation. When you're faced with being homeless and hungry or taking off your clothes for money, the choice is easier than you'd imagine. That doesn't make it easy, though. Oh no. I hate it, in fact. There's nothing I'd like more than to quit and never go into another bar again, never hear the techno beat pulsing in my ears again, never feel the lecherous gazes of horny men again.
Then, one day, I meet a man. He's in my club, front and center. He watches me do my routine, and his gaze is full of hunger. Not the kind of desire I'm used to though. It's something different. Something hotter, deeper, and more possessive. I know who he is; of course I do. Everyone knows who Dawson Kellor is. He's People Magazine's Sexiest Man alive. He's the hottest actor in Hollywood. He's the man hand-picked for the role of Rhett Butler in the long-awaited remake of Gone With the Wind.
He's the kind of man who can have any woman in the entire world with a mere crook of his finger. So what's he doing looking at me like he has to have me? And how do I resist him when he looks at me with those intoxicating, changeable, quicksilver eyes?
I'm a virgin, and he's an American icon of male sexuality. I'm a stripper, and he's a man used to getting anything and everything he wants. And he wants me. I know I should say no, I know he's the worst kind of player…but what my mind knows, my body and my heart may not.
And then things get complicated.
Jasinda Wilder has done it again. I loved this one! I was drawn in by the synopsis and I couldn’t wait to get started. The idea of a virgin being a stripper meeting a Hollywood playboy was intriguing from the get go. I had a hard time putting this one down. It kept my interest from the beginning until the very end.
Grey is the virgin stripper. I really liked her. After leading a very sheltered life she leaves her small town to attend college in California. When her scholarship money is about to run out she is forced to get a job if she wants to continue her education. The only job she can get that will cover her expenses is as a stripper. I felt bad for her because this was something that she felt she had to do in order to stay in school and be on her own. It really took an emotional tole on her life. She couldn’t strip without puking and crying after her act. :/
Dawson is the hot Hollywood playboy. He’s definitely swoon worthy even though he’s a bit of a player. Or should I say he has been a player in the past. He’s used to getting want he wants. And what he wants is Grey.
When these two meet sparks fly. The chemistry between them is electric and I loved reading how their relationship developed into more than an attraction. I thought they made a good couple.
The sexual scenes within this one are really hot. As you can imagine it will take a little bit to get to them since Grey is a virgin as has abstained from having sex do to her religious beliefs, but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed when you get to them.
There was a religious belief element to this one that I was sort of torn over. Grey having grown up with a preacher for a father lived a certain way and had certain beliefs. When she turns against all that she’s believed for so many years it sort of shocked me. She basically went from being a true believer to not believing at all. This element didn’t take away from the story. It’s just something that I noticed and thought was odd or perhaps unnecessary.
Overall, I really, really loved Stripped and the characters. I love how things played out and ended up for these two.
If you’re a fan of new adult I highly suggest you give this one a try. I truly enjoyed it.
