Life will never be the same...

Max is dying. No one wants to believe it, but he knows it's true. And as the end grows closer, he can only think of one thing: Who will protect Liz if he's not here?

Liz can't stand watching Max suffer. She's determined to find some way -- any way -- to save him. But the only way to help Max is to risk her own life. Is she willing to die for the one she loves?

“Our race has a….collective consciousness, ” Ray explained. “It’s like a psychic Internet. All the knowledge, all the life experience, all the emotions of all of our people are there in the consciousness. When a young person reaches maturity, he or she is able to make the connection to the consciousness for the first time. This rite of passage is called the akino.”

The Watcher is the most intense book yet in the Roswell High series. At the end of book three, Max collapses. In The Watcher, we find out what’s going on with Max, and secrets that have been kept hidden since their ship crashed on Earth. After Max starts experiencing more and more strange symptoms, he can’t keep them hidden any longer. Ray, his boss and fellow alien-hybrid, gives Max a diagnosis that doesn’t bode well.

Max is experiencing the akino. It’s a coming-of-age for all the aliens from Max’s planet. To complete the process, Max has to make a connection to all those that have gone before him. There’s one big problem. Max needs certain stones from the spaceship they have been searching for their whole lives. If he doesn’t find these stones in time, he will DIE.

In the midst of all the chaos, Melinda still gives us some good old-fashioned teenage drama and angst. Things with Michael and Maria, and Isabel and Alex are heating up, but not going smoothly. After Isabel takes Liz and Maria Dreamwalking with her into Michael’s dream, things get weird. They see something they shouldn’t have, and now Isabel and Maria are questioning the meaning of it.

Everyone proves how much they need each other once again, when they find out that Max’s life is on the line. Our Roswell group pulls together, and develops a plan to find out where the spaceship could be hidden in the desert. Isabel doesn’t care about playing it safe anymore, she will do anything to save her brother.

The Watcher was another great installment to the Roswell High series.

“I thought you were going to die,” Michael admitted, his voice husky. ” I was terrified.”

Then he was kissing her. Not one of those quick, friendly kisses. A hard, hot kiss, unlike anything Maria had ever experienced. It felt like that glowing piece of her was expanding, filling her whole body with heat and light. Molten heat. Blinding light. Shattering.

If that’s not HOT, I don’t know what is. 😉

Love the Roswell series! I used to have the whole set before my house burned down, so I am slowly trying to find them again!
