My thoughts… Ah I’ ve been waiting for this book for a while. I loved April Showers! It ended on a pretty big cliffhanger so I was happy that this story immediately picked up where it left off. If you’ ve read April Showers you will be happy to know what happens to Lukas. I know that was the first thing I needed to know. While I enjoyed this one I don’ t think it […]

My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century by Rachel Harris

Check out Michelangelo’s beautiful work and other sources on the Italian icon HERE! “Caterina, a great adventure is in store for you.”     Cat Crawford comes from your typical Hollywood family: broken with baggage. Her father is a Hollywood executive, and her mother is an actress with a scandalous existence that guarantees she gets lip-service on every tabloid in the country. There’s a new ”mom” in town, and Cat is struggling to reconcile the […]

My thoughts… Elect is book two in Rachel Van Dyken’ s Eagle Elite series. I’ ve been trying to be patient while waiting for this one. The first book ended on such a big cliffhanger and I was left saying no, No, NO!!!! Having said that I found myself confused while reading this one a few times. I almost felt like I missed something while reading parts of it. There are quite a few twists […]

Review: Cross Country Christmas by Tiffany King

December 7, 2013 0 Comments Christy

My thoughts… Omigosh you guys! I loved this novella!! I’m a big fan of Tiffany King so naturally I had to read this one and I’m so glad I did. The synopsis drew me in and I couldn’t wait to get started. Since this is a novella it’s a short read. I was able to get through it in one sitting. I loved both Jamie & Grant. Although Grant seemed to tease Jamie a lot, […]

Mini Book Review – Jagged by Kristen Ashley

Mini Book Review – Jagged by Kristen Ashley

December 6, 2013 0 Comments Erin

I am a HUGE fan of Kristen Ashley and when I saw this up for grabs on Netgalley I was all over it. I read this book almost 2 months ago and I don’t even remember what happened in this book. Most Kristen Ashley books have a way of grabbing hold of my brain and staying there, this one did not. I couldn’t connect with the characters at all. Unlike other Kristen Ashley books, this […]

Review: Castle Hill

December 6, 2013 0 Comments Christy

My thoughts… I loved this novella!!! Castle Hill is about Joss & Braden’ s wedding, honeymoon, and covers Joss getting pregnant. There were times while I was reading this one that I wanted to slap Braden upside the head for the way he was acting and treating Jocelyn, but in the end he started behaving. 😉 The sexual scenes were hot as per usual in this series. They were well written and plentiful considering the […]

Because one of the first things you learn in this book is how awesome the movie Mean Girls is (though you people should already know the awesomeness of this movie!), this book review is going to consist of a lot of Mean Girls memes. HA.   Shannon is a 21 year old college junior who is still holding on to her V Card. Her friends are doing everything they can to help her lose that […]

Review: The Proposition Vol 1 by H.M. Ward

December 2, 2013 1 Comment Christy

My thoughts… Omigosh! I loved this one!!! Its a great start to a new series. I’ve read the Damaged and Stripped series by Ms Ward and couldn’t wait to read this one. I signed up for an ARC not knowing anything about The Proposition other than it being Bryan’s story. It captured my attention from page one and didn’t let go. As I’m writing this I’m still reeling from it. I need Vol 2 like […]

Release Day Launch, Review & Giveaway: Before We Fall by Courtney Cole

December 2, 2013 0 Comments Christy

My thoughts… Before We Fall is the fourth book in the amazing Beautifully Broken series. I loved, loved, loved this one. While Jacey was a secondary character in previous books, Dominic aka Dom is new to the series. I was sort of disappointed that Jacey and Brand didn’ t get a book, but about halfway through this one I was happy that they didn’ t. Jacey is known for picking the wrong guy. She does […]

ARC Review+GIVEAWAY: The Weight of Words by Georgina Guthrie

ARC Review+GIVEAWAY: The Weight of Words by Georgina Guthrie

December 2, 2013 6 Comments Regina

First, there was Shakespeare. Then, there was Georgina Guthrie. Sometimes you stumble upon a book that appeals to all your senses. A book that wraps itself around you, and warms you to your core like a chenille sweater during a Canadian winter. The Weight of Words is one of those books. In my mind’s eye, TWoW is leather-bound in Oxblood-red with roughly edged, cream colored pages. It’s a romantic contemporary classic that deserves to be […]

My thoughts… The Gift is a funny, sweet, and delightful read. I liked both Imogene and Blake. Especially Blake. *swoon* The playful banter between these two was really funny and I enjoyed reading story. The only negative thing I can say about this one (and it’s not really a negative) is that it’s really, really short. I would’ve loved to read a full length novel with these characters.

My thoughts… Although this is a short novella I really enjoyed it. Until We Burn gives the reader a little bit of insight into who Dominic Kinkaide is. You’ ll see how he views things through his eyes. I found him to be a very interesting guy. Dominic seems like the typical Hollywood movie star. Rich and good looking he’ s used to getting his way. Which he does, but he also has a secret […]

My thoughts… Finally! A new book from author Claire Contreras. I loved her first two books (There is No Light in Darkness & Darkness Before Dawn) and couldn’ t wait to read this one. The synopsis drew me in and I couldn’ t wait to get started. Catch Me is a different style book from the first two she’ s published or at least I think so. Whereas the two Darkness books were suspenseful, Catch […]

My thoughts… Finally! We get to hear Remy’s side of the story. I love reading books from the heroes POV. I like being able to get into their head and experience things from their perspective. After having read the first two books in this series I know how the story goes. Having said that, in this story you can get a feel for Remy in a different light. While the majority of this story highlights […]

Review: A Little Christmas Romance

November 25, 2013 0 Comments Christy

My thoughts… A short holiday novella I enjoyed this one for the most part. There was a bit of confusion on my part for the first half of it though. I couldn’ t figure out what was going on with the characters. It just sort of seemed that there wasn’ t enough backstory to justify how the main characters were acting towards each other. I kept feeling like I was missing something while reading it. […]

My thoughts… Sia. I really liked this one. It held my attention from the beginning until the end. I think both the main and secondary characters were very interesting. I loved Sia. (love her name) She wakes up on a park bench and has absolutely no idea who she is or how she got there. She’s forced to spend a week living homeless on the streets. She befriends a homeless woman named Carol who helps […]

My thoughts… Torn was a very fast read for me. It can easily be read in one sitting. I liked it. Gage was a secondary character in the first novella in this series and I was really looking forward to him getting his own story. He’ s not one for relationships so I couldn’ t wait to meet the woman who would bring him to his knee’ s. Speaking of… I really liked Marina. She’ […]

My thoughts… I have been so excited for this book to come out. The first one ended with a pretty big cliffhanger and so of course I couldn’ t wait to find out what would happen next. Having said that I was way over halfway through the book before things started to get interesting. The first half there really wasn’ t anything exciting happening. I kept wondering if things would indeed pick up. I was […]

My thoughts… Where to begin. Ignite is the debut novel by Author Tessa Teevan. Those who are reading this probably know who she is. If not, here a few details about her. She makes up 1/3 of the Gutter Girls who have a book review blog. She’ s very friendly and always responds to her @ replies on Twitter (at least she does mine lol) and even though she’ s a Reds fan I can […]

My thoughts… I loved Awakening. It was a quick read for me. I just couldn’t seem to put it down. I found both the main characters to be intriguing and I really liked them. Evan acted like a butt for the first part of the story. It was understandable as to why he did given the feelings and emotions he was dealing with. I just wish he would have come around a bit earlier in […]
